On March 2022, Georgia submitted an application for EU membership. In response, the EU Commission released a communication on Georgia's EU membership application on June 2022.
EU's Support for Georgia's Integration
The EU has reaffirmed its support for Georgia's aspirations towards closer ties with the EU. The EU-Georgia Association Council, which met on February 20, 2024, discussed the progress made by Georgia in its reform efforts and the next steps in the EU integration process.
